August 1st - 6th, 2022 | Oranjestad, Aruba | 10 Games vs. Southern Maine Supernova

In August of 2022, two teams from the Southern Maine Supernova out of Westbrook, Maine will be joining us here in Aruba for a week long baseball experience.

Southern Maine Supernova Owner Greg Post stated, "Southern Maine Supernova Baseball is super excited for our biggest destination experience to date - the Aruba Baseball Experience in August of 2022.”  Coach Post reported that over the last six years, the teams’ annual trips have taken them to Cooperstown, Long Island, New York, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Montreal, Province Quebec Canada, and most recently San Diego, California. Coach Post stated that “The Supernova Program is about more than just baseball. It's about building the brotherhood, developing long standing relationships and partnerships, appreciating the importance of family, and providing unique, off field life skill opportunities for our players.”

The coach was researching options for the teams 2022 destination experience, and they came across Brodie Carey, owner of 297 Baseball Academy, who had connections to our state via the University of Maine. The coach felt that Brodie and 297 shared a lot of the same core values as Supernova Baseball. “Aruba is more than 2,000 miles from our home base in Westbrook, Maine but we already feel so connected to the island, thanks to the hard work and dedication of Brodie and Liz Carey, and the amazing vendor partners that they're in collaboration with” stated Post.  Supernova Baseball has over thirty players, three coaches, and over seventy family and friends expected to join their traveling party. They are honored to be the first U.S. team to take part in the Aruba Baseball Experience with the 297 Baseball Academy, and they are already counting down the days until their visit!

This trip will consist of each Supernova team playing five games against high caliber Aruban competition. The Supernova will also participate in baseball and conditioning style workouts and community service. For both sides, this will be an unforgettable experience and each will gain a new perspective on how baseball differs across the ocean. The Supernova Team is traveling to Aruba with some serious depth within their rosters.
