About 297 Baseball Academy
An Academy with a Plan
At 297 Baseball Academy our mission is to provide student athletes with the opportunities to play collegiate and professional baseball. Every player who passes through our academy will be given the necessary exposure and resources to assist them in this process. This does not mean we can automatically deliver a college or professional outcome, but we have hard working baseball players and coaches devoted to the game. Our academy is actively involved in the recruiting process, guidance, and school/organization placement for our players and families. Over time, players are observed through multiple events and practices. We cannot do a complete assessment at just one tryout and we recommend athletes attend our clinics and developmental sessions. Our connections with professional scouts, college coaches, and other personal connected to baseball provide elite exposure in multiple venues for our athletes.
History of 297 Baseball Academy: Our Success
Our academy has trained and evaluated over 200 athletes from multiple different backgrounds. We have had players from not just Aruba but the Netherlands, Curacao, United States, Canada, and Venezuela. Scouts from the San Diego Padres, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Kansas City Royals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Texas Rangers have attended 297 events. Many of our players have recieved collegiate offers for schools in the United States. Our players endure a demanding workout schedule focused on development on and off the field.
At 297 Baseball Academy there is absolutely no parent coaching! We allocate significant funding for an elite coaching staff committed to the players. As we have a permanent coaching staff, we continually invite guest coaches with professional or collegiate backgrounds. We have had coaches from the following programs/organizations: University of North Carolina, Chicago Cubs, Siena College, University of Maine, St. Bonaventure University, Western New England University, Springfield College, Grambling State University, State Fair Community College, Missouri Valley College, Rhode Island College and the Community College of Rhode Island. Our current and former coaches have represented all walks of professional and collegiate baseball. Our coaching staff goes beyond just on field development. We also have a certified strength and conditioning coach focusing on the psychical development of players, injury prevention, and nutrition. On staff we also have a Doctor of Clinical Psychology with specializations in cognitive neuroscience and sports and health psychology.
